First, the book only really covers the first level of Undermountain. Showing of 11 reviews. That’s not a harsh “only” though because a bunch of the book is taken up by the 80 room descriptions and I don’t mean “10 – Empty Room” and “27 – 6 orcs, Hp 5,5,4,4,3,2, 6 gp each” but a DM description, flavor text, and notes on traps, features, monsters, and magic items if any for each. A great purchase, I am already working it into my existing homebrew campaign! There was a problem filtering reviews right now. I’ll take it, and likely use it sooner or later, but it would have been that much better though if it had been volume one of a new series.

The book logically links to the upcoming Underdark and Drow content, such as the Dungeoneer’s book. But as I was weaving plots and conspiracies between elder creatures of the night, my heart was yearning to explore a unrermountain of fantasy.
The first section of the book details the history of the Halls of Undermountain, of the Undemrountain Halaster, and how the Spellplague affected the region.

The story possibilities are endless. I don’t find this particularly useful.

In the dark chambers, they hunger for victims and plot the downfall of those who dwell on the streets above. The encounters themselves are a lot of fun. First of all, the place is in a locale Waterdeep that no 4th Edition sourcebook was ever made for. So how close is the first floor map in this product to the old first floor map from the 2E box set?
